With a strong focus on graphic design and digitally-manipulated film, the Motion Blur book profiles and investigates the work of 28 cross-media artists from around the world. It celebrates a new generation of moving imagemakers who are pushing the boundaries of motion graphics, broadcast design, digital film effects and animation. With over 1,000 illustrations, the book uses interviews, screen grabs, photography, storyboards and sketches to explore the work and reveal the creative process behind it.

I conducted most of the interviews for this book as part of the filming of the onedottv_global series, but with supplementary questions and material added later. I co-authored this book with Shane Walter, with main interview and text contributions by myself, with additional photography and captioning contributions by Walter. The production of this book was a lengthy process, I actually wrote and published The End of Celluloid in the meantime, while Motion Blur was being finished. Due to leaving onedotzero I wasn’t involved in the final editing of this book as I would have liked to, hence the overall tone is different to my other writing works. The title first came out in a deluxe edition softback book encased in a die-cut foam case which held a DVD of supporting work by the artists showcased.
